Biography Amie Potsic received her MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and is currently the Director of the Career Development Program at the Center For Emerging Artists in Philadelphia. She is an established photographic artist who has done much of her work abroad in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, South America, and Mexico. Prior to her studies at the Art Institute, Potsic earned BA’s in Photojournalism and English Literature from Indiana University. She also studied at the University of Arts in Philadelphia and the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC, where she taught and coordinated photography programs for Shooting Back. She has held faculty appointments at the University of California at Berkeley, Ohlone College, and the San Francisco Art Institute. She has recently been a guest lecturer at The University of the Arts, The International Center of Photography, and Ursinus College. Potsic has exhibited her work internationally at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, Medfoundart in Cagliari, Italy, the Museum of New Art in Detroit, The Painted Bride Art Center, University of the Arts, The Woodmere Art Museum, the National Constitution Center Museum, Mission 17, 626 Gallery. Her work has been published in or awarded by Gráficos Burti Brasil, The San Francisco Chronicle, The SF Weekly, The Bay Guardian, Zyzzyva, The Jewish Exponent, Art Matters, The City Paper of Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Weekly, and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Potsic has also been selected for inclusion in editions of Who’s Who of American Women, WW of Higher Education, and WW in America. Curatorial projects include exhibitions at Maryland Art Place, Icebox Project Space, Pomegranate Gallery, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art. |
